Coaching and Training Plan for Patriot Half Triathlon

The Patriot Half Triathlon is an Endurance Drive favorite for newbies looking to take on their first 70.3 and seasoned racers alike. Located about an hour south of Boston, this race is perfect for New England area racers, and its mid-June timing makes it a great pick for athletes signed up for full IronMan races later in the summer such as IM Lake Placid or IM Mont-Tremblant.

The race venue is Cathedral Camp, a summer camp in rural East Freetown, MA, and the race course includes a relaxed swim in the clean and warm Long Pond, a two-loop mostly flat bike course along country roads and through cranberry bogs, and a one-loop rolling run course with an aid station at every mile. None of the hills on the course are very steep or long, but they provide enough variety to keep the course interesting. In particular, there are a few rollers towards the end of the run that will make you wish the finish line would come a little sooner, but fear not! Our triathlon coaches will develop a plan with you to address your limiters, strengthen your assets and get you race ready. Our triathlon coaching plans are customized just for you and your dynamic professional and personal life.

Coaching Tip: Bring both mirrored goggles and clear goggles on race day. If the sun is rising, mirrored goggles will make it easier to sight during the swim. If it’s cloudy, clear goggles are a better pick.
